i dreamt that i was holding up a lilac to bean, saying, "see, this is a lilac," because she didn't know. i made sure to point out to her that what we (or i, anyway) call "a lilac" is not the individual tiny flower, but rather the cluster of tinies, like a large lacy christmas-tree-light-bulb.
