happy birthday, K

we went today to take measurements of the new house. then we sat in whole world with sandwich, nachos, iced tea, talking about the measurements we had made.

so we are packing up everything we own in these boxes bean gets from her store. each box is (i know, i got out the measuring tape) 13" x 9.5" x 20". so far we have thirty-eight of these stacked along one long wall of the living room, filled with books. we have not finished packing the books.

but the house is starting to look dried & skeletal, with all these empty shelves still clinging to the walls.
