here is what made my day better:
1. calling tec at work & asking her to play me a song, & then getting what i'd asked for. it's a silly thing but it did help, thanks t-lo.
2. addie came over once i finally made it home & didn't mind that i was a little spacey, that i kind of wanted to let my brains dribble out onto the carpet there between us.
3. the blanket. we have this warm warm blanket & jeff & addie & i sat under, in a little row of us, on the couch. we talked & watched a million hours of law & order.
it is so utterly perfectly cold outside, you can feel the air as it comes into your body, & today the sky was so petrifyingly blue (i stole that description), it was worth it, the cleanness of the day, it was worth how much it hurt to stand outside in that cold.
the cold, & talking to addie all day, & not reading novels for a while ::: i think this is all very good, what i need. i can go on in this vague manner but it is better to hush now, wait for bean to come home from work, go to bed, wake up, start over.
also 4. halfway through the first law & order jeff up & left the apartment, went out to get cake for addie & me.
