last night when bean came home she made this sort of general announcement, which is this: "i think i am like gimli the dwarf."

me: really.

bean: yes.

me: then who do you think i am?

[pause]

bean: liv tyler.

[much arguing & pointing out that nobody likes her (bean: really? i think she's hot), much explaining of middle-earth to bean (who hasn't read the books) &, ultimately, reaching the conclusion that maybe bean is right, since i am tall & pale & melodramatic & i don't really do much, just sigh.)
