now i am eating a perfect tiny marzipan peach. i love marzipan, especially tiny fruit-shaped marzipan, hard to find eleven months out of the year. this year when the stores brought out a huge amount in their holiday displays, i bought twenty-five dollars' worth of marzipan fruits just so i can have them through the winter &, if i time everything carefully enough, into spring.
i have four days to decide what i should make for dinner the night my father is here. a delicate matter, since i like to show off but he gets a little uncomfortable if he thinks i am putting on a big effortful show on his behalf. especially tricky is his dislike of the sweet potato, without which i cannot imagine surviving the winter.
note to self: do well to remember this. go forth & get over it.
