last night nickel was telling us about some study of lesbians' hands, how straight women have longer index- than ring-fingers, & lesbian women have longer ring- than index-. so we sat around peering at our fingers for a while, trying to line them up correctly, as if this were of the utmost importance. my left hand is gay & my right hand is straight.
