this weekend, nationwide arena is hosting something called "royal christmas" which features, according to the flashing-lights display downtown, julie andrews, christopher plummer, & charlotte church. i like to picture charlotte church playing
all the von trapp children, running around the stage in green drapes like a maniac. i am quite sure that this is not what "royal christmas" entails. alas.
:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:we wanted to have little st-nicholas presents in our shoes this morning, but bean didn't want to wake up at 6.00 just so we could wake up together & see what was in our shoes, so we had st-nicholas presents in our shoes just before midnight last night, instead.
in my house, of course, growing up, we never left our shoes out for any present-leaving occasion, although i always wanted to. i think that because my birthday is so close to christmas, & i am so present-starved the other eleven months of the year, i get excited about any present-leaving occasion there might be, even if it further clutters that one month out of the year when people give me things. either that, or i'm just plain greedy.
 which i am, anyway.
