 hummingbird

25.VIII.2002 ::::: 13.52

the other night as we pulled in to this parking lot across the street, the headlights were on these big pale lilies & we could see, hovering at one of them, silhouetted in the lights: a hummingbird. at first we took it for an insect, giant. i didn't know they came out at night.

i suppose i should do something with my day. later we will go to matt's goodbye fest at the knotty pine but i mean before then. i may just use up all those bananas + blueberries from the other day. i may just sit around reading kathy acker all afternoon waiting for bean to come home at five.

we were going to make matt a tape full of california songs, since he is moving to LA, & although we reeled off a number of possible songs, we never got around to doing it.
