i had plenty of dreams in which mischka had to carry me to a lawyer's office so that i could talk to the lawyer about some child abuse case. i think i was supposed to testify in court. i don't know why i couldn't take the bus to get there. i don't know why mischka had remodelled the kitchen, why the cabinet doors were turquoise fiestaware.
when i woke up i remembered that i am supposed to help this social worker in a neighboring county in her investigation of a statutory rape case. when i woke up i felt sick about it. when i woke up i wondered what the clinking was, & it was which one of the cats playing with a little toy, it was the cheap attached jingle ball hitting the hardwood floors.
