the red velvet cake has come out of the oven & in the other room bean is hanging up the juniper-bough garland we bought today. when i was tinyricka my family always decorated the tree etc on my birthday weekend, which i felt was a slight to my birthday, but today it feels like the best way to celebrate. after delivery thai curries to put on belle + sebastian & get out all the tiny christmas ornaments & watch the cats stick their noses into everything. knowing there is red cake cooling, on the island we built last year.
