 seeing red

7.X.2001 :::: 17.42 carina cassina

today, tucked back back back into the front section of the dispatch was a story about the Northern Lights, which are out all the way to georgia. tonight i will walk out & see if i can see red. (people all across the country, from alaska to georgia, have been calling the cops because they think the sky is a terrorist thing. what is this?)

also red: i am going to learn to draw blood. not bad for the girl who passed out in tenth grade at the mere pantomiming of a hypodermic needle. (i did. i passed out in pulp fiction, too, & had to be carried from the theater. & lots of other less-interesting times. but plenty of times.) at work w____ is trying to convince me to go to nursing school. at home i talk about becoming a midwife. not bad for the girl with no social skills. not bad for the girl who would rather just stay home & read.

it's getting dark. i wonder when the red comes out.
