i stood in the darkened ultrasound room trying to get a good sono on this quivering woman. i stood leaning my hip against the exam bed she lay on, trying to take stress off my feet, wishing that i could get the picture & run. her quivering sure didn't help my nerves, too.

meanwhile: the weatherman is on tv saying that if bruce springsteen plays "born in the usa" at friday's telethon, it will "bring down the house."
