we were driving down dennison avenue & i was in the passenger seat reading sylvia's letter when bean said, "look at mike all dressed-up" & i looked up from the letter & there was mischka holding his girl's hand, the two of them dressed up, walking to dragonfly. i only looked up for a second, i saw her head ducking under a low branch, i saw him grinning foolishly. during all of this my ears were ringing for no reason & the vision out of my left eye was blurry.
