the clinic is closed today because no one set up an appointment to come in. i am getting paid to sit home, listen to the
radio, eat cookies, & read the galley proofs of
american gods all stretched out on the bed.
i walked home from mass last night feeling deslizada & very much wishing that i were not so exposed in the street, & i passed two girls in their front yard with kool-aid stripes in their long hair: they yelled out at me: "iced tea!? lemonade!?" & so i bought a 25� dixie cup of pink lemonade & i think that helped to put the hinges back on.
look at me, letting the clock tick away while i discover that there is a monastery of poor clares, dedicated to nuestra se�ora de guadalupe, in roswell new mexico: & how many things does that tie together?
