the charm of the highway stripi think these are all well-intertwined. que se entienden bien which is not the same thing but which sounds similar to me.
i often wish when i am listening to johnny cash or woody guthrie that we would sing these songs at mass. also that i had not wilfully left my central-kentucky accent in central kentucky. also that i could, always always, listen to johnny cash sing the line "if them orange groves don't freeze."

:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:i talk real pretty to keep myself & you from pointing to what it is. there is a reason i am listening to johnny cash & damien jurado & magnetic fields & that is that i cannot listen now to kristen hersh or the cowboy junkies or catpower or anything cracked-heart. & i cannot listen to anything up. i cannot hold it in. i wall it out with this. i wall it in with this.
i can't even listen to slant6 but i can quote & repeat:
to kill this boy would tear me apart / no romance and no guitars
i can think about the red he only wears twice a year & why.
