1. voice: is back, although still low, gravelled.
2. wallet: is not back.
3. jojo: came to visit & has left already, will come back at the end of the summer.
4. rain: is all around.
i like this kind of rain although bean thinks it is horrible. i like to sit on the back deck & look out at the tops of unattractive buildings & attractive trees, & beyond it in the distance what passes for a skyline in this city-not-a-city. you can hear but not see the traffic from high street. you can hear but not see a lot of things & maybe that is why i like it.
as you can see i am not baking right now. i did not wake up at 6.00 in the morning to start any bread, & i am not going to start any now. i am not putting away yesterday's clothes & shoes, & i am not reading the subtle knife or re-stringing bean's blue-star necklace or any of that.
i am sitting here with a sour taste. things we lost in the fire has stopped playing. the rain is still going & the fan above me is making crazy falling-apart sounds with frightening implications. this fan is right above me & if it falls..
